In a small bowl, whisk together the maple syrup, brown sugar, and mustard.
3 tablespoons pure maple syrup, 2 tablespoons brown sugar, 2 tablespoons dijon mustard
Add the butter to a large skillet set over medium-low heat. Once the butter is melted, add the ham steaks and cook for 3-5 minutes per side, or until lightly browned. You can speed up the cooking time by turning the heat up to medium, but be careful not to burn the butter.
1 tablespoon unsalted butter, 2 ham steaks
Place the pineapple pieces around the ham (see notes). Spoon half of the glaze over the ham, spreading it around, flip, then add the remaining glaze. Turn up the heat to medium and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes per side, stirring to glaze the pineapple, until the glaze becomes thick.
2 pineapple slices
Transfer the ham to serving plates, then spoon or brush any remaining glaze on top. Top with the pineapple pieces.
Notes
If there’s not enough room in the skillet for the pineapple pieces, set them aside while cooking the ham. After removing the ham from the skillet, stir the pineapple pieces to coat with the glaze.
