Instructions
To make the mix
In a bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
Spoon into a clean 1-quart mason jar. Tap the jar on the counter to level the flour.
Spoon in the brown sugar, starting around the edge to show the layers. Even out the top with your spoon.
Add the granulated sugar and even out the top.
Pour in the mix-ins, adding the darker option first, with lighter on top (if you are using a combination).
Place the lid on the jar and add ribbon to decorate. Tie on the baking instructions tag.
To bake the cookies
Preheat the oven to 350°F and line 2 baking sheets with parchment.
Melt butter in a microwave-safe bowl and let cool.
Mix in egg and vanilla.
Dump in the entire contents of the cookie mix jar and mix well, until no dry bits remain and mix-ins are evenly distributed.
Scoop onto cookie sheets and bake for 9-12 minutes, until edges are browned.
Notes
Each batch of cookie mix makes 1 quart of mix, and 18 baked cookies.
