One Pot American Goulash

This hearty pasta dish is a Midwest staple! You'll love how easy it is to make using only one pot.

Gather ingredients

Ground beef or Italian sausage

Onion and garlic

Tomato paste, crushed tomatoes

Worcestershire sauce

Beef broth

Uncooked macaroni

Spices: salt, pepper, paprika, oregano, basil, chile flakes

Heat a large pot over medium high and add olive oil. Add beef, onion, and garlic and saute until beef is browned.

Stir in spices and cook 30 seconds, until fragrant.

Stir in Worcestershire sauce. You can also use soy sauce or tamari instead.

Stir in tomato paste until meat is evenly coated.

Add crushed tomatoes and beef broth. Bring to a low boil.

Add uncooked macaroni. Reduce heat to medium, cover, and cook 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Once macaroni is cooked through, remove lid and simmer an additional 5 minutes for a thicker sauce.

Taste and adjust any salt, pepper, or other seasonings as needed.

Serve with grated cheese and chopped parsley. Garlic bread is perfect with this dish!
