Classic Cinnamon Coffee Cake

Cinnamon coffee cake is the breakfast I turn to when I need to make something everyone will enjoy. It's fluffy, sweet, and bursting with cinnamon flavor.

Key Ingredients

01 Butter, softened

02 Ground cinnamon

03 White and brown sugars

04 Sour cream

05 Flour and salt

06 Baking powder and soda

Cream together butter and granulated sugar

Beat in eggs and vanilla

Use pure vanilla extract if you can, or swap in vanilla bean paste.

Mix in sour cream

This is what gets our coffee cake so light and moist! You can also use plain yogurt.

Add in dry ingredients

Mix just until incorporated, then pour half the batter into a greased pan.

Add cinnamon streusel

Sprinkle half over the top. Add remaining batter, then add the rest of the streusel.

Bake for 30-40 minutes

Insert a toothpick into the center. Only moist crumbs should stick.
