What's the difference between cranberry sauce and cranberry jam? Cranberry jam is sweeter and thicker, while cranberry sauce is more tart, with more flavor additions.

In a saucepan, combine cranberries, sugar, and lemon juice.

Bring to a boil, stirring well to dissolve sugar and prevent sticking.

As it heats up, the cranberries will pop and release juices.

Use a potato masher to carefully mash up the cranberries. You can also use an immersion blender.

Once the jam has thickened, transfer to jars or an airtight container. Remove air bubbles.
